Port Pipavav berths Jindal Vector vessel for 50th time
Exim News Service - PIPAVAV ,   27 April 2009
Jindal Vector, a coastal shipping major, crossed a grand milestone recently when Jindal Tara, an Indian-flagged container vessel owned and operated by it, called for the 50th time at Port Pipavav.

A plaque was presented to the Master of the vessel commemorating the event.

This is a unique achievement for Jindal Vector as its vessel is the only Indian-flagged containership to have completed 51 non-stop, dedicated coastal voyages in a year. This shows Jindal Vector’s commitment to the coastal trade in the country, says a release.

Jindal Vector launched its liner services in February 2008 and is already emerging as a major coastal carrier. Jindal Vector and Port Pipavav have had a very successful commercial partnership, with Pipavav handling over 15,000 TEUs in 2008 alone.

Commented Mr Ashley Dinning, Chief Commercial Officer of Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd (GPPL), "We are committed towards maximum customer satisfaction. This ensures that we build lasting business relationships with our customers. GPPL is pleased to be associated with Jindal and we congratulate them on this momentous occasion".
