Started almost 4 decades ago, Jindal Stainless is India’s largest integrated manufacturer of international quality stainless steel flat products in Austenitic, Ferritic, and Martensitic grades with a 40% of the Indian Market.
The Hisar plant has an annual melting and hot rolling capacity of 550,000 Mt and is ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certified. The plan also houses an exclusive complex for manufacturing stainless steel cold rolled coils, precision strips and coin blanking. As part of expansion plan the plant capacity is further being expanded to 720,000 Mt. Similarly cold rolling facility capacity at Hisar is also being enhanced from 150,000 tons per annum as on 31st March 05 to 275,000 tons per annum by June 2007. The Company also has manufacturing facilities in Indonesia producing Cold Roll Material.
The company is also in process of setting up a 1.6 million tons integrated steel plant in Orissa, which would be the largest single location, fully integrated, stainless steel plant in the world.
The company is implementing international standards across its operations and has concentrated its efforts on performance excellence using various initiatives including TPM and Six Sigma.
The turnover of Jindal Steel crossed the $ 1 Billion mark in 2007.
